Come to SLMDances' summer informal studio showing with The Victory Dance Project to see what we've been working on -- new company members cast in repertory works AND our new work in process, CAKE.
CAKE questions what is respectable, pointing to booty shaking childhood games while our mothers and grandmothers teach us what it is to be "lady-like." We consider how doing away with shame around our bodies can enliven us to be constructive and create new, free realities.
